Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Tops UK Sales Records

With European pre-orders reportedly exceeding 1 million units, the appearance of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue at the top of the UK sales charts has not been a surprise.

Created as a halfway house between the full Gran Turimso 5 release due next year and a demo, the budget priced title is also the focus of a new console hardware bundle in Europe.

The game has become the fastest selling PlayStation 3 so far in the UK, beating Resistance: Fall of Man, and becoming the nineteenth fastest selling overall on any format.

Topping both the combined and individual format charts, the game’s success comes in contrast to a 50 percent drop in sales for Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 in its second week.
