PS3 Folding@Home Gets A Minor Update
February 18, 2008 | Author: play-beyond | Filed under: Folding@home

While nobody was looking, it appears that Sony has updated their Folding@home program for PS3 all the way to version 1.31. The new update apparently includes a workaround for annoying network errors. The word from Sony Japan:
This document highlights some of the changes between versions 1.3 and 1.31 of Folding@home for the PLAYSTATION 3 system. To update Folding@home for the PS3 system, simply restart the application and follow the on-screen update prompts. During an update, do not turn off the PS3 system or cause the software to quit by pressing the PS button. Operations for handling network errors related to the uploading and downloading of work units have been improved. When communication with Stanford University’s servers is unsuccessful, the application will now try an effective method of attempting to reconnect based on the specific error condition.
