Get PSN Content On Your PSP Without A PS3

PSP owners have been able to play games bought from the PlayStation Store before, but now they can do it without using PlayStation 3.

The PlayStation Network Downloader lets you purchase content like demos, movies, and PSOne games, and transfer it to your PSP via your PC. Very handy for PSP owners who haven’t picked up a PS3 yet, certainly, but useful even if you do have one, as you’ll be able to redownload the games to your PS3 (free of charge), should you want to.

You’ll also be able to purchase UMD titles like Wipeout Pure, but those will only be playable on the PSP and not the PS3.

If you already own a PS3, you won’t notice much difference. You’ll use the same account whether you’re involving your PS3 or not, and the money will be drawn from the same Store wallet. If you don’t have a PS3, however, your PSP’s library just grew dramatically in size.

To access the PlayStation Store via your PC, simply visit http://store.playstation.com and follow the on-screen instructions.
